The CVICU (Critical Care) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:
- Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
- Determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
- Implementing clinical nursing interventions for acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care
- Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
- Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
- Synthesizes and prioritizes the information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient-focused action using clinical judgment and clinical inquiry.
- Anticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditions
- Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures

- Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred, not required)
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required within 6 months of hire)
- 1 year of RN experience (required)
- 6 months RN experience in a Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department Unit (preferred)

3 in Night shift
You'll be responsible for evaluating and monitoring patients in an Intensive Care Unit setting. ICU RNs provide the most direct care to patients in life-threatening situations, documenting and providing physician-directed care, assessing and implementing patient care plans, and delegating to other care providers as appropriate. As an ICU RN you will also be providing education and support to patient families, possibly for long-term care needs.
You should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
Help to advance the practice of nursing and improve positive outcomes for your patients as a (an) Registered Nurse RN ICU Stepdown.
Provide basic bedside care.
Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work and interpret reports.
Monitor and adjust specialized equipment and interpret and record electronic displays.
Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads and tubing.
Communicate patients' conditions to family members.
